Deep drainage connection and associated manholes

Project scale and detail of works undertaken.

As part of a United Utilities Section 104 agreement, we were engaged to undertake a 2.7m diameter hydrobreak chamber that commences a 80m and 4 manholes outfall into the existing network.

Works required council approval and extensive phasing a traffic management to deal with live traffic and pedestrians. The final connection onto a 900mm dimeter surface water drain was undertaken under two-way lights at a depth of 3.2m within existing carriageway.

Delivery to programme and budget and works phasing

Our 5-week contract period was impacted by running sand and engineering complication. The budget was compromised as a result. However, the installations were commended given the issues encountered.

Resourcing with a local supply chain

The works employed our direct labour with specialist subcontractors.
