Hudson Primary School – Maghull
Drop off car parking with associated attenuation tank and resurfacing of existing entrances
Project scale and detail of works undertaken.
This 16 car parking space was won on competitive tender, we programmed an ambitious delivery to reduce the impact of having work carried out in front of the school.
The excavated soils were placed on the school ground to form a bund limiting the water ingress from the adjacent field into the courtyard.
Our scope of works comprised.
- Earthworks.
- Drainage and ducting.
- Attenuation tank
- Car park installation including surfacing
- Road markings and speed hump
Delivery to programme and budget and works phasing
During the work we uncovered an existing undocumented Virgin media duct onto the site buried at 150mm under the existing topsoil. The work had to stop until the Virgin media cable providing the internet to the school was lowered. We had to demobilise from site for 5 weeks until the problem was dealt with.
Resourcing with a local supply chain
The works employed our direct labour and our sister company J&P Road Surfacing for tarmacadam installations.
