Essity Mill – Trafford Park

Embankment rework, retaining wall, footpath, service diversion, kee clamp, surfacing

Project scale and detail of works undertaken.

The project at Essity Mill in Trafford Park consisted in the rework of an embankment (110m length) to enable the construction of a footpath of 3m wide at the top against the existing building.

We started work in March 2022 and completed the works in May 2022.

Our scope of works comprised.

  • Concrete slab to yard.
  • Cutting existing embankment to allow the creation of Tensar Green Slope retaining wall
  • Lowering of existing pressure stainless steel raising main (2nr)
  • Installing Kee clamp
  • Edging kerbs
  • Tarmac to allow maintenance vehicle to cladding and roofing
  • Tarmac repairs to trenching works

Delivery to programme and budget and works phasing.

The programme has been completed quickly to enable Essity to access the cafeteria from the new access route. It was a key retention to Hawkins construction in order to complete the contract.

The works has been completed on a remeasured bill and value engineering through the work has allowed us to reduce the cost to Hawkins construction to complete the works.

Resourcing with a local supply chain

The works was delivered using our own labour.
